Optin Pages

Optin Pages make it easy and powerful for you to give your video watchers content they can download while growing your email list at the same time. When someone clicks a link in your YouTube video description, they arrive at a beautifully branded page matching your channel, where they enter their email to get access to your free resource.

Why Use Optin Pages

Instead of sending viewers to a generic landing page or having to set up complicated tools, Optin Pages let you:

  • Quickly create a branded download page in minutes
  • Automatically add subscribers to your email list with a specific tag
  • Trigger email automations (welcome sequences, drip campaigns) based on that tag
  • Track exactly which YouTube videos are generating leads
  • Bring subscribers back to your channel with a "What's Next" video

How It Works

Here is the flow your viewers experience:

  1. They watch your YouTube video and you mention a free resource
  2. They click the link in your video description
  3. They see a branded page with your channel banner and enter their email
  4. They receive a verification email and click the confirmation link
  5. They get instant access to your content and can download files
  6. They are automatically added to your email list with the tag you specified

Creating an Optin Page

  1. Navigate to Marketing → Optin Pages
  2. Click Create
  3. Enter a Title for your content (this is what visitors will see)
  4. The Slug will be auto-generated from the title
  5. Select a Required Tag from your email service provider
  6. Add your content in the Content Body section
  7. Optionally upload files, add a YouTube video embed, and set a CTA video
  8. Click Create

Choosing a Tag

The Required Tag is important because it:

  • Controls who can access the content (only subscribers with this tag)
  • Is automatically added when someone verifies their email
  • Can trigger automations in your email service provider

You can select an existing tag from the dropdown or create a new one by clicking the + button next to the field.

Adding Files for Download

In the File Downloads section, you can upload files that subscribers can download after verifying their email:

  • Drag and drop files or click to browse
  • Supported formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, ZIP
  • Maximum 10 files, up to 100MB each
  • Drag files to reorder them

YouTube Video Options

YouTube Video Embed: Select a video from your channel to display on the content page. Typically, use the same video they came from so visitors know they are in the right place.

Call-to-Action Video: This is a thumbnail that appears at the bottom of your content page. When subscribers click it, they go directly to that video on YouTube. This brings them back to your channel and helps boost your video stats.

Copying the Link

After creating your optin page, you will see it in the list with a Short Link column. Click on the link to open the copy dialog:

  • For YouTube descriptions: Select "Yes" when asked if this is for a YouTube video, then choose which video. This adds tracking so you can see which videos generate the most leads.
  • For other places: Select "No" and optionally add UTM parameters like source, medium, and campaign.

Previewing Your Page

Use the Actions button to preview your optin page:

  • Preview Optin: See the email collection form exactly as your visitors will see it
  • Preview Content: See the content and downloads that verified subscribers see

Tracking Results

The Optins column in the table shows how many people have verified their email for each page. For more detailed analytics, check your dashboard to see:

  • Which videos are driving the most leads
  • Click-through and conversion rates
  • Trends over time

Tips for Success

  • Make it valuable: Offer something your viewers genuinely want and will use
  • Keep it relevant: Match the download to your video topic
  • Use clear titles: Tell people exactly what they are getting
  • Add a CTA video: Bring subscribers back to your channel for more content
  • Set up automations: Use the tag in your email service to trigger a welcome sequence

Troubleshooting

Visitors are not receiving verification emails:

  • Check that your email service provider is connected in Settings
  • Ask them to check their spam folder
  • Ensure queue workers are running on your server

Tag is not appearing in the dropdown:

  • Refresh the page to reload the tag list
  • Check your ESP connection in Settings
  • Try creating a new tag using the + button

Files are not downloading:

  • Ensure the file uploaded successfully (you should see it in the list)
  • Check that the file size is under 100MB
  • Try re-uploading the file
